This policy explains what personal information CancerAsk ("we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have. CancerAsk provides online oncology consultations, report interpretation, second opinions, and cancer education and writing services, led by Dr. Zubair Ali (FCPS & MRCP, Medical Oncology).

What we collect

Contact details you provide — name, email, and any message content — when you write to us or book a call.
Booking data processed through our scheduling provider (Calendly) when you reserve a consultation, including the date, time, and any answers to booking questions.
Health information you choose to share so we can help you — pathology and imaging reports, molecular and genetic test results, treatment history, and related documents. This is sensitive data and is treated with corresponding care.
Technical data such as your browser type and approximate region, collected by our hosting provider in standard server logs for security and operation.

Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
To review your case and prepare your consultation, written explanation, or second opinion.
To provide optional follow-up support if you subscribe to it.
To meet legal, accounting, and professional record-keeping obligations.

We rely on your consent and on the performance of the service you request as our legal bases for processing. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — for example our scheduling provider and website host — and only as needed to deliver the service. We will not share your medical information with any other party without your explicit instruction, except where required by law.

Storage and security

Documents and messages are stored only as long as needed to deliver your consultation and to meet record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted. Access is limited to Dr. Zubair. Please send documents through secure channels and avoid including information you do not want us to hold.

International transfers

Because the service is delivered online and our providers operate internationally, your data may be processed outside your country. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure a comparable level of protection.

Your rights

You may request access to the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy in a portable format.
